I take it that the Deputy is referring to contamination of the atmospheres of PVC plants by vinyl chloride gas. There is no evidence available to my Department that Irish workers in such plants are at present exposed to dangerous levels of contamination. The industrial inspectorate report to me at intervals on conditions and close attention is being paid to research which is being carried on in this area.
