Vol. 277 No. 3

Written Answers. - Meath Retirement Pension.

155.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare when a retirement pension will be paid to a person (name supplied) in County Meath who first applied on 1st November, 1973, and submitted his English social security record; and the reason for the delay in dealing with this case.

A claim for retirement pension was received in the Department on 27th June, 1973, from the person concerned who was then residing in England. He was not then eligible for pension as he disclosed in his claim that he intended continuing in his employment until April, 1974. He was requested to renew his claim on his retiral from work. Nothing was heard from the claimant until 18th November, 1974, when he wrote to the Department from his present address and stated that he had retired from his employment on 27th September, 1974. His pension claim falls for decision under EEC regulations here and in Britain and his entitlement from each country is presently under investigation. Pending final determination of his entitlements under these regulations a provisional pension has been put into payment to him by this Department.
