As stated in reply to a previous question by the Deputy on 7th February, 1974, I granted permission for 62 houses on the site in question subject to certain conditions. I understand that other planning applications have since been made to the planning authority by the proposed developers. In one case an appeal was made to my Department but grounds of appeal were not submitted and the matter is in abeyance. I have no information as to the present intentions of the developers.
It is a pity to see it lying idle for so long.
When the new Planning Bill goes through this House it will do away with this sort of thing.
