Vol. 277 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Keep Ireland Beautiful Movement.

45.

asked the Minister for Local Government the practical steps he has taken to support the Keep Ireland Beautiful Movement.

As I indicated in reply to a question by the Deputy on 7th February, 1974, I commend the aims of the Keep Ireland Beautiful Movement, as I commend the aims of other private sector organisations which are working to improve the environment, and I have already indicated as much. Furthermore, in discussions with representatives of the organisation last October, I informed them of my readiness to consider any proposals appropriate to my Department which they might wish to put forward.

Would the Minister consider some form of substitute scheme for the amenity scheme to enable this committee to work?

The Deputy is introducing extraneous matters.

If Deputy Murphy supplied the money I would be glad to do so.

The Minister is in Government. He knows what to do, he should change sides.

The Deputy must not continue to disrupt questions.
