Vol. 278 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Limerick Confectionery Factory.

139.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries when the former Dairy Disposal Company subsidiary of Cleeves Confectionery was disposed of; the sale price and the name of the purchaser; the arrangements made for the transfer of the staff; and the proposals he has for the use of the factory building.

Cleeves Confectionery (Limerick) Ltd. ceased to operate in August, 1973, and the staff were at that time transferred to the neighbouring factory of the Condensed Milk Company. The premises and plant had been available for sale for some years and after negotiations with a number of interested parties were eventually disposed of in October, 1974, for £30,000 to McMahon Confectionery Ltd. I am not aware of the intentions of the new owner regarding operation of the factory.

The remaining questions will appear on next Tuesday's Order Paper. Deputies requiring written answers may obtain them on application to the General Office.

The Dáil adjourned at 5 p.m. until 3 p.m. on Tuesday, 18th February, 1975.
