I expect the Deputy has seen the statements made on behalf of various adoption societies which categorically denied the charge he refers to. The body established by statute to make adoption orders and to oversee the work of adoption societies is An Bord Uchtála, and if anybody has evidence that a particular society has acted incorrectly either in a particular case or generally, I would suggest that he should make the evidence available to the board.
