There is no formal EEC statistical publication on tourism but tourism statistics in relation to 19 States including the EEC States are published in the annual OECD report "International Tourism and Tourism Policy". These statistics are available to my Department from the OECD.
The position in relation to transport statistics is that the Statistical Office of the European Communities in Luxembourg published a "Transport Statistical Year Book" which covers the principal aspects of transport. A copy is sent to the Central Statistics Office and the information contained therein is available to my Department. Other statistics from the EEC in relation to the transport of freight by road, rail and inland waterways are received in the course of circulation by the EEC of published information or as working papers as a basis for discussion at both Commission and Council levels.
Booklets showing basic statistics on energy are prepared periodically by the Statistical Office of the European Communities and are circulated to member States. These are also available to my Department.
