asked the Taoiseach (a) the total number of sheep in Ireland and (b) the quantities of sheep and sheepmeat exported for each of the years from 1970 to 1975.

With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to circulate in the Official Report a statement showing the information requested by the Deputy.

Following is the statement:

(a) Estimated number of sheep in the State on 1st June, 1970-74.
