Vol. 288 No. 4

Written Answers. - School Transport Service.

71.

asked the Minister for Education if he will return school bus tickets to a family (details supplied) in County Meath which were taken up this week when the family moved house across the road; if he will return the fare-paying tickets to the older children; and if he will say when the road was remeasured, whether it was measured from the entrance to the new house or from the house itself.

Further inquiries are being made in this case and the Deputy will be informed of the outcome in due course.

72.

asked the Minister for Education if he will sanction the provision of a school bus service from the Tullaroe/Tarmon areas to Querrin national school, County Clare.

There is not a sufficient number of children in these areas who are eligible for free transport to Querrin national school to warrant the establishment of a transport service.

73.

asked the Minister for Education if he will sanction the provision of a school bus service for children from the Newtown/Moveen areas, County Clare to Moveen national school.

I would refer the Deputy to the reply given on the 22nd July last to his previous Question No. 33 on this matter. As there are still only seven children in the Moveen locality and only five in the Newtown locality who are eligible for transport, it is not open to the Department to sanction the provision of a service from either locality.
