Vol. 293 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Donegal Pier.

33.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries if, pursuant to a reply of 13th December, 1973, he will state why it has taken three years to have essential repairs carried out to the fishing port at Port, Inver, County Donegal; and when work will commence.

As indicated in my reply of 13th December, 1973, the maintenance of the pier and boatship at Port, Inver, is the responsibility of the Donegal County Council and any repair work needed there is a matter for the council.

34.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries if he is yet in a position to state when essential repairs will be carried out to the pier at Rosbeg fishing port, County Donegal, which was damaged by storm in January, 1974.

My Department have asked the Office of Public Works to have a number of improvement works carried out at this landing place but I am not in a position to say when the work will commence. Maintenance and repair work at the pier is the responsibility of the local authority.
