In 1974 the Tralee and Fenit Harbour Commissioners were offered a State grant of 75 per cent of the cost of fishery harbour works at Fenit, including dredging at the Centre Quay, on the usual conditions that they contribute the remaining 25 per cent of the cost and undertake to maintain the completed works. The offer has not been accepted by the Commissioners.
