Vol. 298 No. 9

Written Answers. - Water Sewerage Schemes.

67.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he has yet approved a special subvention of £77,767.74 for the group water supply scheme at Fintown, County Donegal.

My Department received particulars of the scheme and of the proposed subvention from Donegal County Council on 4th April, 1977. The Department requested additional information from the council on 7th April, 1977. When this information is received, the proposal will be further examined.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will give details of the sewerage schemes in County Kerry in respect of which he proposes to sanction loans for works to be completed in 1977, together with the estimated cost of each scheme.

The position in regard to sewerage schemes that have been recently completed or are in progress is that I have made provision in the capital allocations notified to the local authorities for meeting expenditure on those schemes from loans already sanctioned. Approximately £91,000 is involved for 1977. In addition, my Department are in correspondence with the Kerry local authorities regarding supplementary loans on some of these schemes and there are a number of new major schemes at various stages of planning but it is unlikely that any of these new schemes could be completed in 1977.
