Vol. 303 No. 7

Written Answers. - Offaly Unemployment Benefit.

272.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare why unemployment benefit has not been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Offaly who applied eight weeks ago.

There was some delay in deciding the claimant's entitlement to benefit as her insurance record was incomplete due to the fact that the insurance card in respect of the contribution year governing her entitlement had not been lodged in time with my Department.

The claim has now been decided and payment of benefit due was made on 10 February.

273.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare why a person (name supplied) in County Offaly has not been granted unemployment benefit.

The claim by the person concerned for unemployment benefit was decided by an appeals officer of my Department and all benefit due arising from this decision has been paid in respect of the periods during which he has registered and claimed unemployment benefit.
