asked the Minister for Labour the total cost to the State per week of the close-down of Van Hool McArdle, Coachbuilders, Inchicore, Dublin, by way of redundancy, social welfare, pay-related and other payments and losses of income tax and social insurance contributions.

The firm have intimated that the employees have been laid off on a temporary basis. No redundancies have, accordingly, been notified to my Department. Any charge arising from redundancy would fall on the redundancy fund which is made up of contributions by workers and employers. The other parts of the question are not the responsibility of the Minister for Labour.
