Vol. 304 No. 9

Written Answers. - Clontarf (Dublin) Parking Nuisance.

360.

asked the Minister for Justice if he is aware of the complaints of a person (name supplied) in Clontarf, Dublin, and other neighbours concerning nuisance from wanton parking in that vicinity; and if so, the arrangements that are being made to curb this nuisance.

I am informed by the Garda authorities that a complaint about indiscriminate parking in the vicinity of the complainant's home was received at Clontarf Garda Station on 20 December 1977. The complainant was interviewed at the time by a Garda inspector and the complaint was investigated.

As a result, local Garda were directed to give special attention to breaches of the parking regulations in the area and fine-on-the spot notices have been and are being issued for illegal parking. The Garda consider that an extension of parking prohibitions in the area would not be justified.
