Vol. 304 No. 10

Written Answers. - Disability Benefit.

323.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare why a person (details supplied) in County Meath has not been paid disability benefit although he has submitted certificates since 1 January 1978; if his insurance card was stamped by his employer for 1976 and 1977; if not, if the insurance cards of the other employees were stamped for this period; and, if not, the action he has taken in the matter.

The person referred to by the Deputy was not paid disability benefit as his 1976 insurance card, on which his entitlement to benefit depended, had not been received in my Department. The card in question has since been received fully stamped in respect of the claimant's employment and payment of flat rate disability benefit due from 5 January 1978 was made on 7 March 1978. The question of his entitlement to pay-related benefit is now being examined.

All contributions due by the employer concerned in respect of his employees for the years 1976 and 1977 have been paid.
