asked the Minister for Finance the amount allocated for capital services for each Department, which according to the abridged version of 1978 Estimates amounted to £249,710,040 out of a total of £2,118,528,000 for 1978.

A summary of the Voted Capital Services for 1978 is set out in a tabular statement which, I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to circulate for inclusion in the Official Report. More detailed information will be found in the booklet entitled "Public Capital Programme 1978" and at pages viii-xi inclusive of the 1978 Estimates Volume. These services do not form the total Public Capital Programme for 1978, which amounts to £765,610,000. Following is the statement:—

asked the Minister for Finance if he will indicate the sums approved by way of capital to all State boards and give a list of all State boards receiving capital advances.

The information sought is set out in a tabular statement which, I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to circulate with the Official Report. It is assumed that the Deputy wishes to know the amounts of capital expenditure approved for State bodies in 1978. Column (2) of the tabular statement sets out the amounts of Exchequer advances approved for certain State bodies. Following is the statement:

The amounts of approved expenditure not being financed by Exchequer advances will be financed by the State bodies from internal resources, such as depreciation funds and by borrowing from non-Exchequer sources, such as banks.

(a) In addition to expenditure on the Public Capital Programme, amounts totalling £1.25 million will be required from the Exchequer by the following bodies for refinancing of borrowings of previous years, etc:—
