The IDA have made persistent efforts in recent years to secure a suitable industrial site for Bantry so far without success. The authority have just concluded an examination of a 12-acre site at Lahaden for this purpose but, unfortunately, the study has indicated that the site is unsuitable for industrial development. However, the authority assures me that they will continue to do everything possible to obtain a site for industry for the Bantry area.
