1724 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for Social and Family Affairs the vacancies in her Department offices in Castlerea, County Roscommon; the number of people seeking a transfer to this office; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [16987/02]
There are no vacancies in my Department's office in Castlerea, County Roscommon. The one investigative post located there is currently filled. This post is at higher executive officer level. Under an agreement with the relevant union, vacancies which arise in these positions are advertised among other inspectors at HEO level.
The local services of my Department in Castlerea are provided by a branch office. This is under the control of a branch manager employed under contract to the Department. The staff employed by branch managers are not civil servants and the filling of posts is a matter for them.
