Because of the special circumstances of the Killenaule-Ballingarry area, arising from the close-down of Ballingarry Collieries, I decided in September 1977 to continue for a further year the designation of that area for industrial grant purposes.
There are no plans at present for the construction of an advance factory in Killenaule. The Deputy will be aware that work has begun on the construction by Bord na Móna of a new briquette factory at Littleton Bog adjacent to Killenaule. This factory is expected to be in production in 1980.
