The Deputy will appreciate that fire brigade authorities are responsible for the planning and provision of fire stations. While there is no proposal at present before my Department relating to the provision of a fire station at Ballinteer, Dublin Corporation informed my Department in May 1975 that a new fire station at this location was included in their fire station programme. In April of this year the corporation indicated that this station is scheduled to be commenced not later than 1982 and I understand that they are at present negotiating the purchase of a site.
