asked the Minister for Finance the latest position regarding the provision of a new Garda Station at Tramore, County Waterford.
An exchange of sites at Market street and Turkey Road, Tramore, owned respectively by the Tramore Town Commissioners and the Commissioners of Public Works is being arranged with a view to the creation of a new Garda station at Market Street. Completion of the transaction has been held up by various factors including the desire of the local authority that the office of public Works should first buy out the interest of superior landlords in the Turkey Road site. Negotiations to that end are in progress and will be expedited as far as possible. Sketch plans of the proposed new station have been prepared in anticipation of the completion of the legal formalities for the exchange of sites.
