asked the Minister for Education the number of occasions in the past year during which an interview board for a "B" post in a city of Dublin VEC school has been constituted without the presence of an inspector from his Department; the percentage of such interview boards which were properly constituted; and the steps he proposes to take to prevent a recurrence of the stoppage organised by the TUI in relation to these boards.

During the past year there have been two selection boards for appointment to Grade B posts of responsibility under the City of Dublin Vocational Education Committee which did not include a representative of my Department. Arrangements for the convening of these boards is a function of the City of Dublin Vocational Education Committee, which is exercised under procedures laid down by my Department.
The question of the revision of these procedures in relation to the composition of certain selection boards, which has been the subject of discussions between the interested parties, is at present under active consideration in my Department.
