The total expenditure on the Garda Síochána in 1976 and 1977 was £56,658,946 and £63,473,877, respectively. Complete figures are not yet available for 1978 but it is estimated that expenditure in that year amounted to £75,227,300. It is estimated that the expenditure in 1979 will be £84,134,600. All the figures quoted include the estimated cost of services provided to the Garda Síochána by other Government Departments and offices.
