Vol. 314 No. 10

Written Answers. - North County Dublin Road Hazards.

246.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he is aware that the people of Priorswood Estate, in North Dublin, have had to endure hazardous road conditions on their estate over the last five years, especially on the Clonshaugh Road and the Darndale/Priorswood Road; if he is further aware that the residents association recently blocked the road in an effort to highlight this grave problem; and, if so, his proposals, if any, to remedy this problem.

I am aware of the complaints made as to the condition of the roads mentioned by the Deputy and of the action taken by the residents' association. The timing and execution of improvements to the roads in question are matters wholly within the discretion of the local authorities concerned, Dublin Corporation and Dublin County Council, and would not require to be submitted for my sanction. Any such work would fall to be financed from the resources of the local authorities.
