The Coast Life-Saving Service Companies maintained around the coast are not staffed by full-time personnel but by enrolled volunteers who are usually men living in the vicinity of the station rocket house where the life-saving equipment is kept. The only full-time established employees, who are officials of my Department, are the inspector, who has overall charge of the service, and two superintendents who assist him. The post of inspector is vacant at present.
One superintendent is located at 27 Eden Quay, Dublin 1, and the other at 54 South Mall, Cork.
The table below gives the name and address of the present No. 1 man at each station, and the number of volunteers at present available at each.
