Plans for the replacement on a phased basis of special school buses which are nearing the end of their working life have been in hands for some time. In 1978, CIE, acting as agents of my Department, acquired a total of 30 new school buses. There have been difficulties in the matter of the building of buses for CIE but it is anticipated that arrangements can be made in the near future for the manufacture of additional school buses.
