The Community's Regional Fund in 1979 amounts to 945 million EUA. As regards 1980 the Council, in the context of its recent establishment of the draft 1980 Community budget, decided by qualified majority on a figure of 850 million EUA for the Regional Fund as compared to the Commission's proposal of 1,200 million EUA.
The figure of 850 million EUA is not a final figure but rather the outcome of the first step in the Community's lengthy and complicated budgetary procedure which involves both the Council and the Parliament.
