RTE are aware that RTE 2 Television reception is less than satisfactory in the Beara peninsula. They say that television service in the area in question is provided from transposers at Bantry, from which RTE 2 is already available, and at Castletownbere. RTE have installed additional equipment at the Castletownbere transposer for the purpose of transmitting RTE 2. This equipment is being tested at present and if the tests are successful RTE 2 will be available from that transposer in the near future.
