I have no proposals for the provision of grants in such cases.
The Minister in an earlier reply said that he was still retaining grants for the needy and invalids. I believe that a domestic dwelling without a bathroom and an indoor toilet in 1980 requires urgent attention and a grant. It shows the Government's inertia and their total lack of commitment to the less well off——
That is a statement.
I am aware of what the Deputy's Government did with the grants.
Would the Minister not put a means test on those grants?
I have no intention of putting on a means test.
Because of the unsatisfactory reply to this question I intend to raise the matter on the Adjournment.
