Vol. 319 No. 1

Written Answers. - Student University Grants.

218.

asked the Minister for Education the grants, if any, available for students of 25 years or over who wish to enter university; if in a particular case (details supplied) in Dublin any special grants could be made available; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Grants are made available, under schemes operated by county councils and county borough corporations, to students wishing to pursue full-time university courses who comply with the necessary conditions. There is no upper age limit prescribed in these schemes.

In the absence of relevant precise information as to his academic qualifications and financial means, my Department are unable to offer observations in regard to the eligibility for the award of a grant of the person referred to by the Deputy.
