Vol. 320 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Hospital Staff.

77.

asked the Minister for Health the proposed arrangements for the future employment of those members of the staff, other than medical or nursing, of the Richmond and St. Laurence's Hospitals, Dublin, following the opening of the hospital in Beaumont, Dublin.

The detailed arrangements regarding the future employment of the staffs of Jervis Street and St. Laurence's Hospitals will be a matter for the Beaumont Hospital Board in conjunction with the authorities of the two hospitals and representatives of the staff concerned.

I have indicated to the Beaumont Hospital Board and to the other two hospitals that it is my intention in relation to the staffs of Jervis Street and St. Laurence's Hospitals, that arrangements will be made, in consultation with the organisations representing the staff, to ensure that permanent staff in the employment of the hospitals at the time of the transfer of services to Beaumont Hospital, will be offered employment in the new hospital on conditions which will be no worse than those applying to them when that time comes.
