Vol. 320 No. 7

Written Answers. - School for Deaf Children.

35.

asked the Minister for Education if he will ensure the survival and expansion of the school for deaf children in Stillorgan, County Dublin.

This school was established in 1956 to cater for profoundly deaf boys under the age of ten years. Since the number of hearing-impaired children tends to be static, the school could expand in the matter of number of pupils only at expense of the other schools for the hearing-impaired. Consultations have taken place in relation to this matter but to date no agreement has been reached.
