There is no record in my Department of the receipt of an application for a solid fuel grant from the person named. There is, however, an application from a person with the same surname and address but a different Christian name, which may be the one in question.
This application was rejected on 19 March 1980 because it was received in my Department on 7 February 1980, that is after 1 February 1980, the final date for the receipt of completed applications. Irrespective of its late receipt, the application would have had to be rejected as the house already possessed a solid fuel appliance for water heating.
