The person concerned claimed disability benefit from 14 February 1980. No payment was due on the first medical certificate, which is regarded as a notice of incapacity only, and as subsequent medical certificates for March quoted an incorrect insurance number the first payment could not be made until 2 April 1980. Further medical evidence of incapacity was not received until the end of April.
All benefit due to the person concerned from 14 February 1980 to 9 May 1980, the date of the latest medical certificate received, has now been paid.
