41.

andMr. Enright asked the Minister Justice if there has been any recent change in the issue of replies to Deputies' queries by his Department.

42.

asked the Minister for Justice if he has issued a Directive, or other oral or written instruction to the Secretary of his Department, that all queries and representations by Deputies, must be through his private office; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to take Question Nos. 40, 41 and 42 together.

As far as my Department are concerned there has been no change in the procedure for replying to Deputies' representations since I took office. The practice for many years has been that letters from Members of the Oireachtas are answered from the Minister's private office.
