Vol. 322 No. 11

Written Answers. - Cork Hospital Ambulances.

139.

asked the Minister for Health if his attention has been drawn to a press report concerning the non-availability of oxygen and entonox gas to ambulances operating from the Cork Regional Hospital; and, if so, the action he intends taking to rectify the situation.

I have seen a press report on this subject. Arrangements in relation to ambulances operating from the Cork Regional Hospital are a matter for the Southern Health Board. The health board state that no difficulties have been experienced with regard to the supply of oxygen for ambulances but that for a few weeks there were difficulties in obtaining supplies of entonox in small cyclinders. This situation has been remedied. During the period referred to entonox was available in larger cyclinders for use in ambulances.
