Road authorities are aware that full cost grants are available for approved schemes for the provision of improved public lighting installations on main traffic routes in built up areas, irrespective of whether the installation is being carried out as a separate scheme or as part of a general road improvement scheme.
Grants totalling £22,000 have been allocated in the current year for traffic route lighting schemes in County Galway. There are no public lighting schemes for the county awaiting my approval.
