260.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be provided for a person (details supplied) in County Wicklow.

It is expected that service will be provided within the next three months or so.

261.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs whether he can accord some priority to the application of a person (details supplied) in Dublin for telephone service in view of the fact that she is a widow living alone.

Before service can be provided for this applicant cable must be laid in the area. Because of the volume of other engineering work on hands in the Dublin area at present it is unlikely that the necessary cabling work will be carried out for at least another year and service cannot, I regret, be provided meantime.

262.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if, in view of the need for a telephone service in the Ballyare area, Ramelton, County Donegal he will provide a public telephone kiosk there.

The county council indicated that it would indemnify the Department against any loss involved in provision and maintenance of a kiosk at this location and it is proposed to provide one there on this basis. Completion of the necessary legal agreement by the county council is awaited.
