Vol. 325 No. 7

Written Answers. - Social Welfare Benefits.

385.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare the reason children's allowance has not been paid to a mother (details supplied) in County Mayo in respect of her qualified child since June 1980.

The allowance in question is an increase of widow's pension in respect of an over 18-year-old daughter who qualified as a dependent because she was receiving full-time education by day. In the absence of a certificate from the school the increase in pension was discontinued in June 1980 at the end of the school year. On receipt of a certificate in November 1980 that full-time education had been resumed, the increase was restored with effect from 4 July 1980.

386.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare when a non-contributory old age pension, and arrears, will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Donegal.

A non-contributory old age pension order book payable from 24 October 1980 and arrears due were issued to the person concerned on 12 December 1980.
