asked the Minister for the Environment the number of applications he has received for sewerage schemes in County Galway; the location of each scheme; and when money will be made available so that work can proceed in each instance.

With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to circulate with the Official Report a tabular statement setting out details regarding individual sewerage schemes in County Galway. Following is the statement:

Present Position

(a) Galway County Council

1. Athenry Sewerage Scheme

Contract documents approved—scheme advertised for tenders.

2. Gort Sewerage Scheme

Preliminary Report approved—Council to prepare and submit contract documents.

3. Killimor Sewerage Scheme

Contract documents under consideration in the Department.

4. Kilronan Sewerage Scheme

Proposed Scheme being re-examined by County Council.

5. Moylough Sewerage Scheme

Preliminary proposals received on 5 February 1981, are under examination in the Department.

6. Tuam Sewerage Scheme—Stage 1

Preliminary proposals approved—Council to prepare and submit contract documents.

(b) Galway Corporation

Galway Main Drainage:

1. Interceptor Sewers 1 & 2

In progress.

2. Southpark Pumping Station and outfall pipe from Mutton Island.

Contract documents for mechanical and electrical plant approved. Corporation to complete contract documents for civil works.

(c) Ballinasloe Urban District Council

—Ballinasloe Sewerage Scheme; Contracts 9, 10 and 11

Contract documents under consideration in the Department.

Where preliminary reports have already been approved, the question of a financial commitment does not arise until the relevant contract documents are submitted and approved. Where contract documents have been approved, loans will be sanctioned following submission and approval of the relevant tenders.
