An application under the old grants scheme was rejected because the applicant did not claim payment before 31 January 1980. The applicant also applied for a grant under the £1,000 scheme but this was also rejected as his house was commenced prior to 26 May 1977.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in paying a new house grant to a person (details supplied) in County Donegal which is due for over three years; and when this grant will be paid.
There has been no delay in my Department in dealing with this case. When my Department are notified that outstanding work has been completed and the house occupied by the applicant, an inspection will be arranged with a view to payment of a grant, if in order.
