Vol. 333 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Telephone Kiosk.

19.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will now arrange to resite the telephone kiosk located near 248 Orwell Park, Templeogue, Dublin 12, to a new location to be determined; and when this will be done.

An alternative site selected for the kiosk in question was turned down by the local authority. A fresh site has now been selected and the consent of the local authority is being sought.

Can the Minister indicate when the transfer is likely to be effected having regard to the problems being caused to the occupier of No. 248? When will this be done?

The new site was selected but it was turned down by the local authority as is would cause a traffic hazard. A fresh site has been selected and the consent of the local authority has been sought. I advise the Deputy to encourage the local authority to grant this permission. It would assist my Department.

Can the Minister indicate where the new site is?

I do not have the exact detail. I do not know the precise location but I would say it is quite close to the present one. I will convey the information to the Deputy as quickly as possible. If the Deputy wishes he could go to the council and obtain the location while he is there helping me to get the kiosk erected.
