Contract documents for the Carnew sewerage scheme are under consideration in the Department. The submission of the appropriate certificate confirming the acquisition of any necessary land and wayleaves is awaited in my Department. I cannot at present say when I will be in a position to convey a decision on the proposed scheme to Wicklow County Council.

asked the Minister for the Environment the present position in relation to the Greystones sewerage scheme, County Wicklow; and when he hopes to be in a position to sanction the work.
Wicklow County Council have been asked to submit revised contract documents for a first phase of Stage 2 of the Greystones sewerage scheme. This phase would eliminate the existing septic tank near Railway Bridge and pump sewage from the septic tank site to the existing treatment works at North Beach. The treatment works would be enlarged to cater for the additional sewage load involved. I am not at present in a position to say when the revised contract documents will be submitted or approved.

asked the Minister for the Environment the present position in connection with the application for the provision of a group water supply scheme at Bahana Whaley, Ballinaclash, Rathdrum, County Wicklow.
Wicklow County Council have been asked to test the proposed source for this group scheme. Quality and yield tests will be carried out during the testing season of late summer and early autumn.

This group have been advised to have a design for their scheme prepared and submitted to my Department for examination.
