Vol. 333 No. 8

Written Answers. - Dublin Postal Districts Numbering System.

665.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is considering extending the postal district numbering system to all areas of County Dublin and in particular to West County Dublin; the proposed numbers for Clondalkin, Ronanstown, Lucan, Clonsilla, Blanchardstown and Castleknock, the area covered by each number; the benefit or changes in postal services which will accrue or arise from any proposed numbering system; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Extension of the Dublin District numbering scheme to include Clondalkin, Ronanstown, Clonsilla, Blan-chardstown, Castleknock and Tallaght is under consideration but there are no plans at present to extend the scheme to Lucan or other parts of County Dublin. I will make an announcement covering the other points raised by the Deputy as soon as the final details for the extension of the scheme have been worked out.
