Written Answers. - Housing Grants.

765.

(Limerick West) asked the Minister for the Environment when the balance of a house improvement grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick.

The Department's records show that grants of £600 for reconstruction works and £75 for the installation of water and sewerage services were fully paid in this case on 13 July 1981.

766.

asked the Minister for the Environment the present position in relation to the payment of a £1,000 new house grant to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

This application was rejected because it was not received in my Department within 12 months of the date the applicant occupied the house, as prescribed in Article 11 (1) (b) of the Housing Regulations, 1980.

767.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a new house grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in Clondalkin, County Dublin.

A grant cannot be paid in this case until certain remedial works agreed to by the builders, the Structural Guarantee Company and my Department have been carried out to the scheme of houses involved. When the builders satisfy my Department that these remedial works have been carried out, this and other grant applications will be further processed.

768.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a £1,000 new house grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

A grant will be paid when an inspection establishes that the house has been satisfactorily completed and that the other conditions applying to the grant scheme have been complied with. The inspection will be carried out as soon as possible.

769.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a £1,000 new house grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in Clonsilla, County Dublin who applied in January 1982; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

A grant will be paid when an inspection establishes that the house has been satisfactorily completed and that the other conditions applying to the grant scheme have been complied with.

770.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a £1,000 new house grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in Dublin; the reason for the delay; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Following a recent notification from the applicant that the house had been completed, the file was referred to the inspector for investigation and report with a view to payment of a grant, if in order. An inspection in March 1982 had revealed that the house was not then completed. There has been no delay by my Department in dealing with this case.
