1061.

asked the Minister for Justice how many cases of stolen drugs have been reported to the Garda in each of the last five year.

1063.

asked the Minister for Justice how many prosecutions and how many convictions there have been in each of the last five years for the drug offences of (a) possession and (b) pushing.

With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 1061 and 1063 together.

The number of instances of stolen drugs which were reported to the Garda in the years 1977 to 1981, inclusive, were 196, 184, 205, 266 and 366, respectively.

Statistics in relation to the offences of unlawful possession of drugs and unlawfully supplying drugs are as follows:
