The latest official information available at present relates to the estimates for the year 1980. The provisional estimate of total net invisible earnings in that year is £565 million. This is made up of receipts from services of £619 million and net receipts from current transfers of £526 million offset by payments for services of £460 million and net payments of £120 million factor income. The main sources of earnings from services are tourism and travel, passenger fare receipts and international freight. The main sources of earnings from current transfers are EEC transfers, emigrants' remittances and pensions.
