The only such appointments made since the date referred to by the Deputy have been to An Comhairle Ealaíon. The following have been appointed to fill vacancies on the Council: Mr. Patrick Murphy, Mr. Robert Ballagh, Mr. Brian Friel, Mr. Proinsias Mac Aonghusa.
In view of the Taoiseach's statements in the House this time last year, as Leader of the Opposition, will he assure the House during his period in office that he will be utterly consistent in his opposition to patronage in appointments such as these?
