Vol. 340 No. 7

Written Answers. - Westmeath School Catchment Boundary Facilities.

574.

asked the Minister for Education if her Department are aware of the serious implications of the catchment boundary facility charges for a school (details supplied) in County Westmeath and if she will initiate a special review of the catchment boundary facilities in relation to this school.

Charges for incidental catchment boundary facilities are of general application in relation to all post-primary centres.

My Department do not consider that a special review is warranted of the catchment boundary facilities at present operating in the case of pupils attending the school mentioned by the Deputy. However, if the school authorities feel that particular circumstances exist in this regard, it is open to them to submit a case to the Department.
